Oh wow – I’m so excited to share this stunning Bodleian Library wedding reception in The Divinity School in Oxford!  I have many many words to describe Steve and Janina’s day – but “stylish” and “love” and”glamorous” and “chic” are a hint as to the overall mood of the day.  I love Oxford Town Hall wedding photography – its such a typically Oxford location, with beautiful architecture and details.

The day started with bridal preparations at Steve and Janina’s beautiful and trendy Oxford home.  It was light and bright with wooden floors and an open-plan feel.  Janina choose a classic and simple Pronovias dress which was beautifully elegant.  She also wore pearl earrings, a gift from her parents.  The bridesmaids all chose their own disky pink dresses, and their individual and unique choices worked so well on the day.  As they were in four different countries it would have been far too difficult to co-ordinate choosing a dress of the same pattern.  I think this is such a fantastic idea, and really allows the bridesmaids to choose a dress which they feel confident and beautiful wearing, whilst reflecting their individual style.

After having their hair and makeup done at Ann Veck, Janina and her bridesmaids and friends had a light lunch before getting ready.  We headed off to The Oxford Town Hall wedding ceremony to meet with Steve and the family and guests.

The wedding ceremony was held in The Old Library which is a lovely wood-panelled room which reflects the history of this very old building.  Daisy’s Flowers provided the gorgeous bouquets and wedding arrangements.

The highlight of the wedding ceremony was the singing – so beautiful!  One of the bridesmaids, Ania Vegry, is a professional opera singer, and sang a soprana aria by Purcell.  Classical music is very important to Janina and Steve and this fitted perfectly with their wedding ceremony.

Rather than a traditional wedding cake, the guests were treated to five different gateaux of chocolate and fruits.  What a treat!  These delicious cakes were from Patisserie Valerie in Oxford.

We then took a stroll through the streets of Oxford, stopping briefly at a few sights along the way.  The wedding reception at The Divinity School of the Bodleian Library was an event everyone had been looking forward to all day.  The room needs minimal decoration as it is stunning. Janina and Steve sourced their table centre pieces themselves – five little succulents of different shades of purple and grey, as well as Manzanita trees wrapped in fairy lights to add some sparkle.

Everyone enjoyed the wedding breakfast, which was provided by Lamb Catering, a top notch catering company and highly recommended!  It was then time for the first dance, Shostakovich’s Second Waltz.  Its wonderful to see a Viennese Walz in such a beautiful location, it was magical!  The guests then danced the night away and celebrated with this truly wonderful couple.  Congratulations Janina and Steve – wishing you a lifetime of happiness, love, success and laughter x

This beautiful wedding was captured by lovely Rachel from Veiled Productions.  Highly recommended for unobtrusive wedding videography.
