I had the pleasure of providing Orla and Will’s Lains Barn wedding photography on a beautiful Autumn day.  I’m a recommended supplier at Lains Barn and I love to photograph weddings at this beautiful and rustic Oxfordshire wedding venue.

I started the day at home with Orla and her bridesmaids, who all looked really relaxed and happy preparing for the day.  Orla was presented with a lovely book of memories before having her hair and make-up done.  Her lace dress was simply stunning, I do love lace wedding dresses!  We had a few moments for putting on earrings and greeting her parents before it was time to head off for the church.

The wedding ceremony was help at St Mary’s Church in Uffington – a beautiful old church with the most gorgeous stained glass windows.  Its always so nice to meet a vicar who is happy for photographs to be taken of the service – he was so accommodating and friendly.  I was able to take a few photos from the back of the church as well as the front, giving a nice range of different angles whilst being as unobtrusive as possible during the service.

After the service we took a few portraits in the grounds of the church.  I feel its important to have a few more posed shots during the day, just to give a bit of variety.  Although I loved informal and unposed shots, I do recommend a variety of posed and natural shots.

We headed over to the Lains Barn wedding reception from the church.  As the weather was so lovely we took a few photos of the family, bridal party and friends outside the barn.  We then headed over to the wooded area at the back of the barn for a few photos of Orla and Will.  It was then time for the speeches, meal and evening celebrations.

After cutting their beautiful wedding cake we headed back into the barn for the dancing, where the party was soon well and truly underway!  My favourite band was playing – The Vents – who are truly awesome and you should definitely book them for your wedding!

This was one of my favourite weddings of 2016 – not only for the beautiful setting, lovely weather, wonderful colours of the dresses and flowers, but more importantly for the really friendly and genuinely nice people – the bride and groom, bridal party, family, vicar, friends, band and staff.

Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness!
