I was delighted to photograph Steve and Marianne’s wedding at The Abbey Buildings in Abingdon on a rather rainy day!  As I am an Abingdon wedding photographer this is a very local venue for me and I’m very familiar with the location of this beautiful and rustic setting.

Coseners House wedding preparations

The bridal preparations were in the gorgeous setting of Coseners House, which is a short walk to the venue.  The bride looked beautiful as she was buttoned into her dress ready for the ceremony.  Coseners House is a quaint and historic hotel set in beautiful grounds on the Thames and an ideal location in the heart of Abingdon.

Wedding ceremony at The Unicorn Theatre

The wedding ceremony in The Unicorn Theatre takes place on the stage, with guests seated in the audience.  Its great fun, like watching a theatre production!  I love the effect of the spotlights shining behind the bride and groom, its very dramatic and theatrical.

After the ceremony we wandered out to the little garden for a few photos, trying to dodge the rain!  We also managed a walk over to the Abbey Grounds for a walk along the river and a few photos before heading inside for the reception.

Abingdon Abbey Buildings wedding reception

I love Abbey Buildings Abingdon wedding photography as the rustic barn has so much character.  The pillars were decorated with lights and flowers, and the long tables looked lovely with a selection of blooms.  The beautiful wedding cake was at one end of the room, with space for a few photos at the other end due to the weather.  After the very entertaining speeches it was time for the wedding breakfast followed by dancing.  What a wonderful wedding day with a wonderful couple and their beautiful daughter, many congratulations to you!
