I am a regular Steventon House wedding photographer and I absolutely love this beautiful Abingdon wedding venue.

I hope that you find the information on this page useful, and please use the contact form at the bottom of the page if you would like any further help or if you would like to make an enquiry.

Why do I recommend Steventon House weddings?
  • The large ceremony / reception room is spacious and bright with lovely ceiling drapes
  • There is a separate bar area as well as a reception area for guests to sit away from the music.  There is also a separate room for your photo-booth / childrens entertainment as well as an annexe for your sweet cart and gift table.
  • Beautiful honeymoon suite with four-poster bed.
  • The large grounds offer plenty of outdoor space for your group photographs as well as photos of the bride and groom.
  • There is plenty of room for a bouncy castle for the children as well as other lawn games, with plenty of seating as well.
  • I have personally always found the food to be very good quality and well-presented.
  • The venue has plenty of guest rooms for family and friends to stay over.
  • There is parking at the venue for guests to leave cars overnight.
  • The venue is located near the A34 for easy access as well as Didcot Train Station.
Ceremony room layout

The wedding ceremony room is setup with an aisle heading from the door towards the big windows at the end of the room.  The chair covers and ribbons you choose from your supplier can tie in beautifully with your colour scheme, and match your flowers and bridesmaids dresses.

Reception room layout

If you are having a top table then this will usually be located at the end of the room (against the twinkly backdrop if you have chosen to use it).  This allows you a view over the whole room and the guests can easily see you for the speeches.  Your chosen colour scheme can tie in with your chair covers and table decorations to creature a spectacular setting for your wedding reception at Steventon House Hotel.

Wedding details

There are so many options to make your wedding unique and personal to you.  The entrance next to reception has a beautiful fireplace with a mantle to greet your guests.  The bar area and outside area can hold small table decorations and candles.  The annexe before the main reception room also offers plenty of options for a sweet cart or table, a gift table or anything else you would like to personalise!

Photography in the grounds

There are plenty of outdoor locations for your wedding photos.  The beautiful frontage of the hotel makes a lovely backdrop to not only show the location but also as an interesting feature.  I would encourage guests not to park immediately at the front – sometimes a few “no parking” signs can be useful!

The grounds at the back of the hotel offer a few nice locations for your group photographs as well as photographs of the bride and groom.  If you are lucky enough to get a beautiful sunset then the area near the road offers the boest location for this.
