I am an officially recommended Lains Barn wedding photographer at this beautiful wedding venue in Oxfordshire.

Carol Elizabeth Photography is one of only a handful officially recommended Lains Barn wedding photography suppliers.  This is due to my experience working with the staff and venue, and having provided exceptional and professional quality photographs on a number of occasions.  I feel that trust is an important aspect as venues need to be confident in their recommendations of suppliers.

I hope that the information and photographs on this page will be useful for choosing where to get married.  Please get in touch with me if you would like to discuss your big day further!

Lains Barn wedding venue
Wedding ceremony barn layout and information
  • The chairs are usually laid out facing the front of the barn, with a central aisle
  • This layout works well for your photography as there is plenty of natural light from the large glass doors
  • This layout also allows a bit of room for your photographer to take photos of both the bride and groom as there is space to walk around
  • There are a few other options for layouts with the ceremony taking place in the middle of the barn
  • The bride and groom will usually exit the barn down the central aisle to the small room at the back, whilst the guests leave via the large doors to the grass area, or via the bar
Confetti and outside area
  • The grass area outside the barn offers plenty of space for guests to chat and enjoy their drinks
  • The bride and groom will usually walk across the grass as guests enjoy throwing confetti, which makes a lovely photo
  • There’s also plenty of room for children to run around in a fairly secure location as there is a gate to the carpark
  • Wedding couples will often brig lawn games to keep the guests entertained
  • The carpark allows a higher viewpoint for very large group photos
Wedding portraits at Lains Barn and Barton House
  • The area behind the carpark offers a secluded space for some natural and relaxed portraits of the bride and groom after the wedding ceremony
  • The small hay barn is a lovely rustic backdrop, and the trees and long grass also add to the rustic feel
  • You can walk through into the adjoining field for a few portraits depending on the time of year
  • If you seek prior permission, you can also use the grounds at Barton House which is a 2 minute drive
Wedding reception barn layout and information
  • The barn is a beautiful structure, and far more than a blank canvas – it doesn’t really need much decoration!
  • Your florist can add large flower balls in the barn for the wow factor
  • The most common table layout is round tables, sometimes with a head table at the top of the barn
  • Usually rustic and simple decorations work well, such as wild flowers, tree logs and handmade name cards
Dancing, music and evening festivities
  • The evening wedding reception at Lains Barn is magical, with plenty of fairy lights transforming the barn into a wonderful setting with a cosy feel
  • The band or DJ will usually be setup at the back of the barn, allowing guests to move freely between the barn and the bar area
