Welcome to Carol Elizabeth Photography – Oxford wedding photographer
Professional Oxford wedding photographer.
Wedding photography in Oxfordshire and across the UK.
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my website and to have a look at my recent weddings. I am a full-time wedding photographer based in the beautiful riverside town of Abingdon-on-Thames in Oxfordshire. I am relaxed and friendly, organised and professional, and I will capture your day in my natural and classical style.
Being a female wedding photographer means that the bride will feel far more relaxed having photos taken whilst putting on her wedding dress and during the preparations. I also feel that I have a greater understanding of the emotions the bride experiences on her wedding day, and I can also help with a lot of practical things such as how to lace your dress, pinning button holes etc!
I have a background in IT and I believe that the post-processing and presentation of your images is extremely important. I spend time on your images after your wedding ensuring they look as perfect as they can, ready to print and share.
I have two gorgeous little boys who certainly keep me busy!
Being a wedding photographer is like no other area of photography. It’s fast-paced and I need to think on my feet. My approach to wedding photography is a natural and informal – I feel it is important to capture the more traditional group and portrait images, but it is equally important to include some fun and relaxed wedding photography which will make up the essence of your wedding day and add the “wow” factor to your collection of photographs.
Please take a look at my blog to see some of my latest weddings. Please use the contact form or give me a ring so that we can check availability and arrange to meet up. I look forward to hearing from you!
I am a licensed member of the SWPP (Society of Wedding and Portrait Professionals) This means that my work has been assessed by a panel of professional photographers and passed the stringent requirements for achieving a Licentiate. I am also a member of the Guild of Photographers.
I run a professional photographers’ forum called IPPN. Its a really great resource for sharing ideas and helping each other to learn and grow in this ever-changing area of photography.
Above all I love photography and generally don’t leave the house without my camera!

“We loved her albums, the price was right and most importantly she understood we were looking for something really relaxed. No times or deadlines as she seemed to be the photographer we spoke to that understood this. We also loved that she was so easy to talk to.”
“We met with a few people but we felt that Carol understood what we wanted the most nothing was to much trouble and she made me feel relaxed about having my picture taken as I hate it, a lot of our pictures I didn’t even know she took, we felt Carol got the most amazing natural pictures of us.”
“Carol was fantastic! She understood what we were looking for and took amazing quality photos. She managed to capture a step by step of the day including all the little details that would be easily forgotten. She was easy to talk too and helped us create some memorable moments. We couldn’t have asked for anything more from her.”
I feel that over the years I have always known the brand and image I would like to portray in my work, and I feel that I have refined my style of wedding photography to be natural, classical and informal with attention to detail and beautiful post-processing to make your images really stand out.
Although there is always plenty of time during the day for reportage and informal wedding photography, such as during the bridal preparations, ceremony, speeches and chatting to your guests, I also feel an important part of the day is spent with the bride and groom capturing those special feelings and emotions after the wedding ceremony.
I love bride and groom portraits – natural and comfortable, but showing off the beautiful wedding dress and flowers, and capturing beautiful portraits which not only you but your family and friends will treasure,
Why I love Oxford University Weddings
I spend a lot of time at the beautiful Colleges in Oxford, capturing the wedding ceremonies and also wedding receptions in these beautiful and historic buildings.
I feel it is an honour to be asked to be with you on your wedding day, and the location you have chosen to celebrate your marriage is very important to me.
Please take a look at my information page for Oxford University Weddings for more examples of recent weddings at various Oxford College weddings.
We will have the chance to meet before your wedding for your pre-wedding photoshoot if you have chosen to have one. Its a great opportunity to get to know each other and for you to have some lovely photos as a couple before your wedding day. If you prefer not to have a pre-wedding shoot then thats absolutely fine – we can have a chat over a cup of coffee 🙂
I will be in touch with you in the days before your wedding, confirming the timings for your wedding day and any special requests you may have.
On the day I will arrive at your location and will start will natural reportage wedding photography, to capture the excitement and fun of the preparations. At this stage of the day people are often nervous and full of laughter, and having some candid moments captured is always really enjoyable.
During the wedding ceremony I will photograph the events as they unfold. It can often be emotional for the bride and groom as well as family and guests, and I try to include not only the location, flowers and decorations but also the people, the emotions and those special moments.
After the ceremony once everyone is relaxed there’s usually plenty of time for some family group photographs as well as some portraits of the bride and groom. I feel this time alone is important as you can chat to each other about being married, and you will have some lovely natural portraits as husband and wife.
I try to include a lot of candid photographs of your guests and family, as well as photographs of the reception room and the venue. During the speeches I will photograph not only the speaker but also the reactions of the guests which always tell a story of the day.
During the evening celebrations – when everyone is in the mood to have fun and dance – I will capture your first dance and cake cutting as well as anything else which is happening such as fireworks or musicians.
By this time you will be ready to continue with your party, and I will leave you to enjoy your evening.
